As an educator Kathryn uses the creative process to fuel students practice routines and performance preparation. Honouring both the learning process equally to end 'product' of a student's playing, Kathryn is committed to fostering life long learners.

As a performer and educator with a specialization in improvisation and classical performance.  

A recipient of one of Ottawa Arts Council’s Emerging Artist awards, she has been featured in Canada’s most notable Concert Series, including Chamberfest, Music and Beyond, NUMUS Music Festival, and the Ottawa New Music Creators’ Analogue Series to name a few.

Is Joining Kathryn Patricia's Viola Studio The Right Fit For You or Your Child?

This Viola Studio is For:

​​Students who are in Middle School or High School: As the studio group class programming is geared towards this age group,  the studio is currently accepting students in this age range so that all students will get the best out of the programming.

Students New to the Viola and Involved in their School's Music Program: Kathryn holds strong pedagogy and expertise in helping students transition to the viola at the middle school and high school age level, helping them develop instrumental and ensemble skills that will assist them in their school studies.

Students Interested in Learning More About Using a Loop Pedal in Performance and or Music Improvisation:  As a practicing loop pedal violist and improviser, Kathryn Patricia has a high level of expertise and passion in this area of study.  As the world of Classical Music continues to change, evolve and Innovate, Kathryn helps students find their artistic voice and gain a virtuosity in this skill set.
